Job Accountabilities

  • Perform all levels of preventive and predictive maintenance on Facilities electrical equipment and systems
  • Analyze and troubleshoot electrical problems with equipment and systems to component level, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing and restoring equipment to safe and proper operation.
  • Generate, review and modify PM procedures, work instructions, spare part requests, purchase requisitions, facility work orders, etc
  • Assist with and participate in technical engineering projects
  • Provide support for general contractor and subcontract electricians.
  • Qualify for ERT membership thru completion of standard training programs
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work productively and cooperatively in the Facilities group
  • Participate effectively in cross organization projects and team tasks.
  • Rigorously comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and codes as well as all SolarWorld safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist other Facilities Technicians, when required, with the operation and maintenance of Facilities systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air, chemical, gas, wastewater, ultra-pure water, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

This position requires an individual who is self motivated and works well others. The successful candidate will have demonstrated mastery of electrical equipment and systems similar to those in use at Solarworld. 

 

  • Current Oregon electrician license (Journeyman or Plant Journeyman)
  • Minimum 5+ years of electrical experience of which 2 or more years were in a manufacturing/industrial environment. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment.
  • Attendance is a critical function of this position.
  • Broad knowledge of facilities systems for high tech manufacturing environments
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) knowledge
  • 40 hour Hazwoper certification preferred
  • Completion of a 2-year technical training, or degree program, or apprentice program 
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, sit or for long periods.
  • Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending.
  • Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
  • Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Alternate schedules as needed to meet company goals.
  • Use and operate ladders, golf carts, man lifts, cherry pickers, forklifts and other large equipment.
