Job Accountabilities

  • Initiate and drive safety improvements in methods, machines, processes and areas. Perform and drive safe behaviors in all tasks and areas.
  • Support a 24/7 high-volume production facility including off-hours, on-call, and on-site support
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Production personnel to support efforts, which will improve the performance of manufacturing systems, e.g. yield, speed, personnel requirements, and maintenance needs.
  • Become knowledgeable to troubleshoot PLC program glitches, robot malfunctions, manufacturing equipment issues
  • Become knowledgeable to program PLCs and robots
  • Learn how to initiate and drive productivity improvements in a PV module fab.
  • Establish work instructions and procedures for minor and major equipment maintenance tasks.
  • Eventually take fully ownership of production equipment and processes
  • Train and certify maintenance technicians on PM procedures.
  • Conceive, drive, and implement SPC on production tools.
  • Learn how to write technical reports of evaluations
  • Learn how to perform tests and qualifications.
  • Insure complete process documentation and QS9000 compliance (FMEAs, Gage RnR, and operation procedures).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum 4-year degree / Bachelors in related technical discipline (BS Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, BS Material Science, BS Physics, etc.) and a minimum of one to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing to learn programming of PLCs and Robots.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) as you will be working in a team environment that is very data-driven.
  • Ability to correlate automation problems with material, personnel, equipment, process changes, DoE/Stat/Six Sigma, etc., data & trend analysis.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and be flexible in regards to work hours.
  • Must have a "whatever it takes" attitude to get the job done (This may mean working long hours, weekends, nights, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Solid skills in MS Office Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (Inventor, Solidworks) and/or 3D printing is a plus
  • Skilled in statistical data analysis. SQL proficiency is beneficial
  • Must have the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Previous experience with Siemens PLC control programming and/or robotics (KUKA, Fanuc, 5-6 axis, gantry) is highly beneficial.
