Job Accountabilities

About the Position

The accounts receivable specialist is responsible for managing the accounts receivable ledger and collections for SolarWorld Americas Inc. This role develops relationships with customers, finance, sales, customer service and logistics teams to ensure effective shipment of orders, timely collections, and accounts receivable maintenance.  

 

Primary responsibilities for this position include the following:

 

  • Provides administrative support to the credit and collections process which includes collection of receivables, cash posting, new customer set ups, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Prepares weekly email correspondences to outstanding accounts with open balances past and current, for payment status.
  • Assists in resolution of outstanding invoice problems from past due accounts including deductions management.
  • Identify and communicate concerns to management, sales and order management support regarding customer credit limits and payment history.
  • Responds to inquiries from customers and/or external collection resources and works with appropriate parties to resolve issues.
  • Pull daily bank deposit information and post customer payments in the system and maintain the cash report.
  • Update reporting as needed, for backlog reports, cash forecast, and month end management reports.
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills:

 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent with preference given to candidates with post-secondary education.
  • Three years of relevant or transferrable experience in corporate collections and/or cash posting. Experience in manufacturing or sales environment a plus.
  • Preference for candidates with experience using SAP.
  • Experience with the collection of past due accounts, including high value accounts, while maintaining professional relationships with customers.
  • Strong customer service background including the ability to interact with internal and external customers, including requesting and responding to information in a professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Demonstrated work or educational experience utilizing strong organizational, adaptability, and time management skills with previous experience managing multiple and often competing priorities.
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to synthesize data required, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, filters, etc.
  • Must be able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, interrupt driven, open-office environment. 
  • Attendance is a required function of this position.
