Job Accountabilities

Reporting to the Facilities Operations / Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility systems and equipment. This includes Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, Compressed air, Chemical & Gas Delivery, Wastewater Treatment and Ultra-Pure water systems as well as other assigned equipment.   The Facilities Technician also trains others on assigned systems and contributes to the technical reliability and quality improvement of their systems.  Works a compressed work week day shift.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on Facilities equipment and systems
  • Perform Facilities rounds and accurately complete all operating logs
  • Generate and review PM procedures, Work Instructions, spare part requests, purchase requisitions, Facility Work Orders, etc.
  • Complete Facility Work orders with little or no assistance or supervision
  • Qualify for ERT membership thru completion of standard training programs
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work productively and cooperatively in the Facilities group
  • Successfully complete technical seminars and training classes (internal or external)
  • Participate effectively in cross organization projects and team tasks.
  • Participate in and contribute to facilities incident/ reviews.

 

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.  
  • Must have a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working in a facilities organization which supports a high-tech, manufacturing facility. 
  • Basic knowledge and experience with the following systems:
    • Heating ventilating and air conditioning systems
    • Compressed air systems
    • Process cooling water systems.
    • Electronic, pneumatic, and computer automation control systems
    • Waste neutralization systems
    • Ultrapure water systems
    • Chemical or specialty gas dispense systems
    • Emergency response teams
  • 24 hour HAZWOPER or trade specific certifications are a plus.
  • Basic computer skills are required including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook). Additional preference given for familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Facilities Monitoring and Control Systems (FMCS), manufacturing or ERP systems including data entry or data collection from such systems.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment.
  • Strong desire to bring best practices to the team, share your knowledge and expertise and enable your team members' mutual success as the organization continues to grow.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

 

 Physical Job Requirements:

  • Position requires being able to move around all areas of the facility including working on ladders and in the sub-fab which requires crawling, bending and stooping
  • Work a 12 hour compressed work week day shift. In addition, must be able to train on any of the shifts, day or night
  • Stand or sit for long periods.
  • Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be physically able to perform some repetitive motions.
  • Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
  • Use tools that require fine hand skills.
  • Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Climb and descend stairs or step stools.
  • Operate ladders
  • May be required to alternate schedules as needed
