Job Accountabilities

The HR Generalist will partner closely with the HR team to provide support to employees and supervisors. The position requires general knowledge in various areas of Human Resources, and will be responsible for supporting a variety of areas such as HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, HR Helpdesk, and HR Business Partnering. The ideal candidate for this position brings enthusiasm for saving the environment through our philosophy of sustainability – “clean energy from sand and sun”.  All employees of SolarWorld Americas must be able to operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and be able to tolerate ambiguity as we operate entrepreneurially to accomplish goals. 

 

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

 

  • Assist with the development, implementation, administration, training, tracking and communication of key HR programs including performance management, merit program, annual bonus plans, organizational redesign.
  • Coordinate with HR Business Partners on employee matters such as terminations and promotions.
  • Provide first level support for the HR Helpdesk by responding to inquiries from employees regarding SolarWorld employment policies, procedures and programs.
  • Establish and maintain HR intranet communications for SolarWorld Americas’ employees.
  • Update policies and procedures to comply with current employment laws and practices.
  • Support general HR administration processes like transfers and status changes to ensure employee data is processed in a timely fashion.
  • Establish and maintain documentation of HR Services processes and enhance support with continuous process improvement projects with internal customers and external vendors.
  • Maintain personnel records in the areas of compensation, immigration, and workers’ compensation.
  • Create and analyze key performance indicators related to employee headcount, total compensation, turnover, employee engagement and exit interviews.
  • Support compensation programs by preparing data for compensation surveys, compensation adjustments, variable compensation (e.g. bonus) plans and annual salary administration.
  • Support initiatives and activities for employee and manager training facilitated by HR.
  • May support company-sponsored employee events as directed.
  • Support other HR duties by providing back-up assistance as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

The following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills is desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years related work experience supporting a high-tech environment, preferably a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with HRIS systems.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Work well independently, yet be cooperative in working with different teams and functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong desire to bring best practices to the team.
  • Ability to develop processes, solve problems and analyze data to make recommendations.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism along with ethical, professional behavior.
  • Desire to work in an open office environment.
