Job Accountabilities

Reporting to the Manager of IT Applications , The SAP Analyst will be responsible for SAP availability, utilization, and expansion of SAP capabilities to further optimizes SolarWorld business processes with goals to increase business efficiency, reduce waste and improve revenue. This position will partner with the business to support the business & business processes through SAP ERP solutions. These solutions could be changes to SAP, changes to business process, or end user training on capabilities that already exist within SAP.


Temporary position: Six to nine months depending on project.


The position will also be responsible for operational support,  change processes, functionality development,  documentation, and training support for SAP application in SolarWorld. This consultant should be able to work towards departmental objectives with minimal supervision in day-to-day work and be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.


Specific deliverables associated with this role include:


  • Understand the supported line of business from end-to-end and its impact on other business areas
  • Quickly understand business needs and drive process improvement in line with best practices and standards
  • Responsible for the configuration and ownership of module implementation and changes in each functional area
  • Establish process performance measurements to be able to constantly monitor, control and report end-to-end process performance
  • Support the SAP functional module operations, reviewing ticket backlog, prioritizing issues and working them to resolution
  • Help implement SAP improvement projects as required
  • Perform analysis to gather requirements for integration with other SAP modules
  • Analyze and document as-is process and complete supporting documentation, including process diagrams
  • Oversee development and maintenance of documentation (test scripts, specs, etc) in Solution Manager
  • Understands business/IT Integration principles
  • Creates functional specifications and delivers them to developers/engineers when unable to handle changes with configuration
  • Performs unit testing, integration testing and UAT of software changes
  • Coordinates new SAP releases with process owners, super users, developers and basis team
  • Troubleshoot configuration problems, research OSS notes, creates OSS notes
  • Perform updates to training tools and knowledge warehouse as needed

Job Requirements


The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as IS/IT, computer engineering or software design or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional IT experience in a related position supporting IT/IS business applications.
  • 3+ years of SAP Configuration and Development experience as well as prior experience in developing a team
  • Functional/configuration experience with SD, FI/CO or SCM SAP module/s.
  • Working knowledge of ABAP development is desirable but not required.
