    Job Accountabilities

    About the Position

     

    Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the National Accounts Manager will manage the development and execution of SolarWorld’s US sales strategy. You will work independently, as well as with peers in sales, marketing and financial services companies to identify and expand sales opportunities across channels.  You will be expected to participate in a variety of projects aimed at expanding SolarWorld’s presence in the US market.

     

    Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies and processes that drive higher levels of growth through market penetration (grow market share) and channel growth throughout North America
    • Proactively lead strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
    • Develop and implement strategic market business plans and marketing programs
    • Negotiate and maintain sales volume and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including but not limited marketing, operations, support groups and management resources to meet customer objectives and expectations.
    • Review, filter and track new sales opportunities to ensure effective reporting of sales activities and pipeline opportunities
    • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
    • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
    • Attend and participate in company and industry meetings and events
    • Review, filter and track new and existing sales opportunities in CRM system
    • Other duties as assigned

    The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or, other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Expertise developing new accounts, strategic alliances and sales channel partners evidenced by at least 10 years of overall experience in sales, preferably in solar or building industries
    • Track record of successfully achieving sales quotas in growth organizations
    • Demonstrated knowledge of solar project, quotation, installation, financing and related incentive programs is preferred
    • Ability to build business plans and prioritize sales efforts effectively to achieve business objectives. Specific preference for candidates that can demonstrate prior experience building a business plan with marketing that has been executed to grow sales in a region, new market, or with a new product launch
    • Preference given to candidates who demonstrate an understanding of project financing and/or government (local, state, federal) related incentive programs through proposal development and terms & conditions negotiation
    • Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
    • Excellent analytical ability and strong communication skills, including the ability to create and present compelling proposals
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated presentation skills, at all levels within the organization
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
    • Skilled in the use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc., including CRM and/or ERP sales module for sales opportunity reporting and tracking
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport and can travel domestically and internationally, as required
    • Attendance is a mandatory function of this position
