    Job Accountabilities

    About the Position

    The Technical Support Manager will provide world-class pre/post-sales technical support, by managing SolarWorld’s technical and training programs.  You will foster an environment that is focused on customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and innovation in complex channel structure. This role with work closely with other sales managers to provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assist the sales staff to demonstrate the SolarWorld value proposition to meet customer needs.  This role will also support the development of training plans to educate best practices to installers.

     

    Primary responsibilities for this position include:

    • Use technical expertise and business acumen to support sales teams to demonstrate the value of SolarWorld programs and products to channel partners and installation customers
    • Develop and implement training platform for both internal and external users on SolarWorld programs and products
    • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats including installation simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos or lectures to design, develop and deliver training solutions to internal and external staff.
    • Prepare and conduct needs assessments and develop training content and course materials to ensure training program effectiveness.

     

    • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats including installation simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos or lectures.
    • Develop and organize training materials, guides and other course related materials such as handouts and visual aids.
    • Ensure teams are trained on programs + process + product
    • Provide customer, installer and distributor feedback to the organization and peer departments as needed.
    • Maintain a thorough understating of SolarWorld’s product offerings and services; including product functionality, best-in-class installation practices, and importance of products to customers and sales personnel.
    • Engage with customers on escalated support issues or critical customer situations
    • Leverage the team and resources for issue resolution
    • Perform technical assistance and support on products SolarWorld offers.
    • Review and report on installations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Education or related field, or combination of education and work experience.
    • 10+ years of related experience in technical product training, preference for candidates who have photovoltaic (PV) installation or training experience.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role, managing direct reports.
    • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to conduct technical instruction in a variety of settings, including web based, on-site and trainings at customer-based locations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating across departments, including different levels within and outside of the organization, to achieve business objectives.
    • Effectively manage time and multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
    • Advanced computer skills including utilizing Microsoft productivity tools.
    • Must be able to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, open-office team environment.
    • Demonstrated experience managing projects from start to finish including working cross functionally and with subject matter experts, defining requirements, keeping project on schedule, and managing activities.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport and have the ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
    • Attendance is a mandatory function of this position.
