    Job Accountabilities

    Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Material Handler will support production operations, including receiving, incoming inspection, inventory movement – including raw materials, spare parts, chemicals, and shipping. Position requires a general knowledge of warehousing operations as well as a demonstrated ability to provide excellent teamwork support to other departments.  This position will normally receive general instruction on routine work, and specific instructions on new assignments.


    Specific Deliverables that may be associated with this opportunity include:

    • Ability to receive product into ERP system using packing slips
    • Loading & Unloading of Product
    • Inventory movement from receipt to storage location to production location
    • Kitting of production work orders
    • Discrepant Material Tracking
    • Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for Repairable Spare Parts
    • Shipping of product to either customers or other Solar World Facilities using various carriers as per agreement using ERP system and carrier systems as required (DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
    • Operate company owned vehicle transporting product between off-site storage warehouses and/or corporate production facilities
    • Effectively communicate across cross-functional groups
    • Incoming inspection using calibration equipment

    Job Requirements

    This position is ideal for an individual who is interested in having a different challenge every day. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Two or more years’ experience in a high tech or similar environment.
    • Able to work compressed work week: Back half nights; Wednesday, Thurday, Friday and every other Saturday, 5:30 pm - 5:45 am. May be required to work alternate schedules to meet production goals.
    • Basic computer skills are required including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word). Additional preference given for familiarity with manufacturing or ERP systems and data entry and/or collection from such systems.
    • A working knowledge of warehouse equipment and manufacturing safety procedures is required.
    • Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
    • Experience with continuous improvement, ISO 9001-2000 and general knowledge of ERP systems helpful.
    • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand or sit for long periods.
    • Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending.
    • Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
    • Use tools that require fine hand skills.
    • Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts.
    • Climb and descend stairs or step stools.
    • Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
